DELHI: Selected films
from those screened at VATAVARAN 2007 - Fourth Competitive Environment and Wildlife
Film Festival - will be screened by Zee News.
Festival
Director Alka Tomar told indiantelevision.com here that the
event this year will have eighteen awards in twelve categories
including those in achievements in technical excellence. The
award money is Rs.25,000 to Rs.1,50,000.
The Festival is being held from September 12 to 16 at the
India Habitat Centre.
An
international Competitive Category is being introduced this
year for the world's most outstanding documentaries on natural
world or conservation themes.
A
Young Environmental Journalist Award will be presented by
the Forum for Environmental Journalists of India (FEJI) and
Centre for Media Studies for excellence in environmental journalism.
The award would be given to an individual who has done exemplary
investigative and inspired reporting.
There
will also be countrywide recognition of two journalists under
30 years old who have made a significant contribution in either
the print or electronic media to an understanding of the nation's
environmental problems.
The
award carries cash awards of Rs. 25,000 each for Print and
TV journalists.
The last date for entries is 30 April. The entry forms and
guidelines as well as the delegate registration forms are
attached herewith and available on the website www.cmsvatavaran.org.
Subsidised
entry fee has been instituted in collaboration with Zee News
for filmmakers from Andaman & Nicobar, Bihar, Chhattisgarh,
Daman and Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Goa, Jammu and Kashmir,
Lakshdweep, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Northeast States, Pondicherry,
and Rajasthan.
