SET to kicks off 'Boogie Woogie' kid's championship on 28 April

MUMBAI: Sony's dance competition Boogie Woogie is set to kick off an eight week kid's championship edition this summer for which the luckiest twinkle toed kid can walk away with prize money worth Rs 5, 00, 000.

Open to kids in the age group of 10- 12 years, the championship will have three elimination rounds to be telecast on the 28 April, 5 and 12 May respectively. Each round will feature seven participants out of which the three best performers will be selected to move on to the next round.

The nine participants selected are nine-year-old Akash Das from Orissa, C handan Maheshwari from Faridabad, Papiya Sarkar from West Bengal, Priyanka Mahajan , Kasturika Sarangi, Sayali Samant, Jaya Sharma, Priyanka Keni and Aishwarya Kale, who will feature in the fourth round with a partner of their choice. A sibling, parent or even a teacher is allowed to join in. Two participants will be eliminated in this round which will leave seven kids to go to the next round to be telecast on 19 May.

The fifth round will be telecast on 26 May and the participants will be given a theme by the choreographers. The star attraction on this episode will be Mithun Chakraborty's son, Mimoh Chakraborty and debutante actress Vivana both of whom make their screen debut with their film Jimmy.

The sixth round will be a celebrity round in which each participant will get the opportunity to perform alongside a television star. This round will be telecast on 2 June, one young participant will be eliminated leaving five kids to fight for the next round. This round which will be the sixth round is going to one in which the kids perform with the members of their family. Yet another kid will be eliminated on this occasion leaving four talented kids to go in to the finals and fight it out for the crown.
