TV-Loonland content with KidsCo

MUMBAI: KidsCo, the newly formed global kids channel, has announced a content deal with independent producer and distributor of children´s programming TV-Loonland.

TV-Loonland will provide KidsCo with a raft of titles, such as Clifford, The Famous Jett Jackson, Gi Joe and The Black Stallion, when the channel rolls out globally later this year with the first launch anticipated in Central and Eastern Europe followed by premieres throughout 2008 and 2009 in approximately 40 territories across Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific.

KidsCo - a multi-platform channel committed to providing a responsible and entertaining environment for children and families around the world - is a strategic joint venture between Sparrowhawk Media, DIC Entertainment (DIC) and Corus Entertainment Inc's Nelvana Enterprises.

Justine Bannister, Head of International Distribution and Acquisitions at TV-Loonland commented on the deal: "We´re very excited to be partnering our titles with those of Nelvana, DIC and Entertainment Rights, thereby providing the KidsCo channel with some of the best-known and well respected shows in children´s programming. With this raft of internationally appealing quality programs featuring a blend of classic favourites that don´t age and that can be passed down from generation to generation alongside contemporary titles - the channel is set for entertaining young minds as well as parents and caregivers immensely."

She added: "This venture not only provides us with a significant additional outlet for our properties, it will also boost exposure for these brands. This represents a great opportunity for our distribution team all around."

Paul Robinson, who has recently been named as Managing Director of KidsCo said: "TV-Loonland has an excellent reputation for creating high quality programming for the youth market. The line-up of programming they can provide for KidsCo will further enhance the extensive libraries of our partners with an array of much-loved titles and we're delighted to have secured this deal with them."
