Cartoon Newtwork and Pogo launch new series this summer

MUMBAI: With the summer vacations in mind, Cartoon Network and Pogo has lined up a series of new programming initiatives.

Premiering this summer on Cartoon Network are new show launches such as Dragon Ball Z, Di-Gata Defenders, Johnny Test, Strawberry Shortcake as well as movie premieres such as Toy Warrior, Barbie: Magic of Rainbow, Charlotte's Web 2: Wilbur's Great Adventure and Krishna In Vrindavan, Cartoon Network's 14th locally acquired animation.

The main attractions of the summer entertainment line up on Pogo include the exclusive Indian Television Premiere of Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire, a new edition of the Pogo original production M.A.D., titled Camp M.A.D. and the recently acquired Granada detective series, Sherlock Holmes.

Launch of Dr Chotay Motay and new episodes of Takeshi's Castle will further notch up the comic element on the channel. For pre schoolers there is a special season of the popular Galli Galli Sim Sim on Pogo and Cartoon Network as well as a new show called Panshel's World on Pogo.

Perking up the network's programming block, TOONAMI on Cartoon Network, are two new animated series - Dragon Ball Z, based on a brave kid - Goku, who fights villains in order to save planet Earth and The Di-Gata Defenders kids of a wizard, who save their motherland from any attack, drawing their strength from dice shaped stones. The show, Dragon Ball Z, will be available in four languages - English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Adding to this excitement is the special Toon Cricket on-air contest offering kids the chance to assume the role of the third umpire. Viewers need to decide whether the toons featuring in the special Toon Cricket on air spots are out or not out. Kids stand to win exciting weekly prizes such as Cartoon Network room painting kits, handheld cricket games and one lucky kid stands to win a Trip for a family of four to Australia. To win, kids need to simply watch the Toonami block on Cartoon Network from 5:00 to 6:30 pm or Toonami late run from 8:00 to 9:00 pm.

Launching as part of Cartoon Network's special Subah Ho Gayi Mamu block is Johnny Test. This fun new show revolves around Johnny Test and his two mischievous sisters lining up some funky experiments in the name of science. The Adorable Strawberry Shortcake will enthrall young kids with her new adventures stories in each episode that will teach kids the importance of sharing, friendship and more.
