Breakthrough Animation licenses 'Miss BG' to
Cartoonito UK

MUMBAI:Breakthrough Animation Inc. has finalized a licensing deal with Cartoon Network's Cartoonito (UK) to broadcast the hit animated program Miss BG, it was announced by Breakthrough Animation Inc executive producer and managing partner Kevin Gillis.

Cartoon Network's, Cartoonito (UK) has acquired 26 half-hour episodes of Miss BG. The popular program is set to debut on 24 May 2007.

Miss BG is adapted from the acclaimed Gudule and les Bébés book collection published in France by Hachette Jeunesse, authored by Fanny Joly and illustrated by Roser Capdevilla. Miss BG is a co production between Ellipsanime, Breakthrough Animation, TVO, TFO (Canada) and France 5. Aimed at kids ages 5-8, the popular 3D animated TV series centers around the world of Miss BG which is a short for Big Girl, a precocious eight year-old girl ,going on twenty! who sees it as her mission to teach her young brother George the ways of the world. Being unlike any average 8 yrs old, Miss BG has a very unique point of view as to how the world works. Many heartfelt and comical lessons in life are shared between her family and friends along the way.

"Miss BG's endearing characters and captivating storylines have so much strength and appeal for young kids and I can't wait to see them get immersed in this property."

Toronto based Breakthrough Animation was formed in 2003 when Breakthrough Films and Television's Co-Founders Ira Levy and Peter Williamson joined forces with Kevin Gillis, Breakthrough Animation's managing partner and executive producer. The company's first collaboration, Atomic Betty, has been sold in over 130 territories to date including Cartoon Network USA, M6 (France), CiTV (UK), ABC Australia, and Teletoon France in association with partner broadcaster TELETOON Canada. Breakthrough Animation is also producing Captain Flamingo for Jetix and YTV, and Miss BG for TVO, France 5, Nickelodeon Australia and Cartoon Network UK.

As one of the independent producers of Canada, Kevin Gillis has created, executive produced and produced a number of award-winning series and films, including The Raccoons, Robocop: The Series and I Was A Rat. They have been broadcast in over 180 territories worldwide. Over the past 21 years, Breakthrough Films and Television's Co-Founders and executive producers, Ira Levy and Peter Williamson have built a creative partnership to establish themselves as one of Canada's most prolific providers of children's, factual, drama, variety and lifestyle programming, having produced over 550 half-hours of programming over the last two years.
