MUMBAI: ABC Family original series Kyle XY is set to launch in terrestrial television in over 120 territories across the globe, with a raft of new terrestrial TV sales for the drama series announced today at MIPTV in Cannes, by Disney's Buena Vista International Television.

The series is ABC Family's most successful show ever in international markets. The drama, with huge popularity in the US on ABC Family, has been licensed to broadcasters in major territories across the world, with more agreements to come. Current licensees are and Star across Asia and the Middle East, Trouble in the UK and Ireland, TVNZ New Zealand, M6 France, HOT in Israel, RTI and Fox Channel in Italy, TV3 Malaysia, Cuatro and the Sci-Fi Channel in Spain, Kanal 5 Sweden and TV2 Norway.

Kyle XY follows the story of Kyle, a mysterious teenage boy with no past, and no bellybutton, who appears to be a newborn by his actions. After being found and put in an institution he meets psychologist Nicole Trager, who can tell he is unique. Realizing that Kyle will need special attention, and to be taken away from the institution, Nicole brings him home, much to the chagrin of her children Lori and Josh. Even her husband Stephen is a bit weary of his wife's latest patient. Soon Kyle starts to become part of the family and experience everyday things, like computers, music and a high school party.

The series is written and executive produced by Eric Bress and J Mackye Gruber and executive produced by Chris Bender, JC Spink, David Himelfarb, Eric Tuchman and produced by Julie Plec. It is a production of ABC Television Studio.

The ensemble cast includes newcomer Matt Dallas, Marguerite McIntyre, Bruce Thomas, April Matson and Jean-Luc Bilodeau. Rounding out the ensemble cast are Chris Olivero and Kirsten Prout.

Kyle XY premiered on 20 Feb 2007 on Trouble. After launching on TV3 Malaysia on 1 February, Kyle XY has become the number 1 US series on Malaysian television for 2007 for major demos.
