NGTI takes first kid's series 'Mama Mirabelle's Home Movies' to MipTV

MUMBAI: National Geographic Television International (NGTI) has announced the launch of a range of new content in support of its first kid's series - the pre-school show Mama Mirabelle's Home Movies at MipTV this year.

The show is a National Geographic Kids Entertainment, CBeebies and King Rollo Films co-production, which celebrates the comedy, drama and gentle wisdom of the animal kingdom's youngest characters through a mix of charming animation and remarkable live-action clips. It debuted as a cornerstone of the CBeebies new-look schedule in March this year and has proved to be popular with its young target audience.

This new content will provide broadcasters with a range of options for their kids' schedules - from top-and-tailing Mama Mirabelle episodes, through to engaging parents, carers and kids with fun activities via the interstitials, which are suitable for TV, web or mobile, informs an official release.

NGTI head of kids' sales Karen Vermeulen said, "Mama Mirabelle's Home Movies has got off to a terrific start both in the UK and overseas and it is great to be arriving at the market with additional content to offer broadcasters. The series has such a lot of potential for engaging its young audience and this new content enables a much greater degree of interaction with the property - for both pre-schoolers and their parents and carers.

"Mama Mirabelle has proved the perfect property to establish NGTI's reputation in the international kids market. It has all the expected and trusted hallmarks of the National Geographic brand, coupled with a unique and entertaining approach that we hope excites children to explore their world."

The new content available for license includes Interactive Monkey Minutes consisting of interstitials, mixing live action and animation, Music Videos, Promos and the Website - www.mamamirabelle.com (coming soon) which will be an entertaining multimedia experience that encourages preschoolers to learn about their world through the characters and themes from the series. Consisting of games, video clips, world music clips, printable activities as well as parenting and educational teachers' resources, the website will deepen young children's appreciation of the animal kingdom and its similarities/differences to their own lives.

In addition to a raft of deals for Mama Mirabelle's Home Movies already announced, including sales to Canal J/Tiji in France, ABC Australia and Telepool in Germany, NGTI is also pleased to announce the recent conclusion of new deals for the series with SVT Sweden and ATV Hong Kong, with further deals pending, adds the release.
