MUMBAI: ABC has announced that the fifth season of its action packed show Alias will also be the last. The show comes to an end in May 2006. In India it airs on AXN.

ABC says that the show will go out with a big bang. In a statement, ABC Entertainment president Stephen McPherson says "Alias is not going to wind down as it comes to an end, it's going to rev up, and we're going to make it the event it deserves to be."

The show stars Jennifer Garner as a spy. Her character Sydney Bristow lives a double life working for a spy agency with an anti-government agenda. Besides possessing a useful knowledge in martial arts she also speaks foreign languages like Japanese.

Media reports further indicate that Alias has found it difficult to hold its own against stiff competition.
