MUMBAI: Hindi news channel Channel 7, which was recently launched
by Jagran TV Pvt. Ltd, has in a statement claimed that it recorded
a reach of 37.9 per cent in Uttar Pradesh.
The channel asserts that it holds second position amongst Hindi
news channels during the period 12 June to 18 June amongst the 25
+ males in SEC ABC, all day.
As
per the TAM data offered, during the same period Sabse Tez channel
--Aaj Tak holds 44 per cent, followed by NDTV India and Zee News,
which signifies 37.7 per cent and 37 per cent of the market share.
Commenting on the performance, Channel 7 chief operating officer
Piyush Jain states, "With a growing number of news channels,
the Indian television Industry has become extremely competitive
and the key to holding the attention of the viewers is having relevant
and compelling differentiators. We started with innovation as the
key and strong programming content and were confident of consolidating
our position in the market place. We will continue with these to
increase our viewer ship even further."
