MUMBAI: Tata Sky Ltd, the direct-to-home (DTH) joint venture company between Tata and Star Group, is on a recruitment spree as it readies for launch of its service to give battle to Dish TV, 20 per cent owned by Zee Telefilms.

The company is on the hunt for several positions in brand marketing, distribution, subscriber management systems, customer service, finance, information technology and human resources. An advertisement put up today in a leading financial daily seeks professionals with experience ranging from three to 12 years across all these areas.

Under T-Sky brand, the company promises to offer the latest movies on demand, and interactive television like watching of cricket matches from camera angles which customers can choose from. The "home entertainment revolution" will include television programming that is digitally broadcast directly from satellite, with DVD quality picture and CD quality sound.

The company has hired 11 Ku band transponders on Insat 4A and a test run is planned for November, sources say. Insat 4A is scheduled for launch in August-September.
