An official release states that the centre has invited luminaries
from the Guild including president Amit Khanna and noted filmmaker
Mahesh Bhatt to share their productive views and suggestions on
this crucial issue.
The meeting also involves people representing a large spectrum
of society such as Prasar Bharati, National Commission for Women,
Advertising Standards Council of India, Cable Operators Federation
of India, Consumer Coordination Council and People for the Ethical
Treatment of Animals.
The Guild has been discussing on various critical matters concerning
the entertainment industry with the government. These include the
guidelines governing program and advertising codes under the Cable
Television Networks (Regulation) Act 1995 and certification of films
prescribed under Cinematograph Act, 1952.
