MUMBAI: From 5 January 2006, BBC World's weekly technology programme
Click Online will be re-launched with a new name, look and
presenter. Spencer Kelly, who is currently a reporter on the programme,
will take over as the main presenter.
Click will report from leading industry exhibitions and
conferences to give audiences an insight into the technologies about
to enter the marketplace. It will also offer practical computing
and technical advice, as well as acting as a trusted guide to outstanding
websites. Click will be first broadcast on BBC World every
Thursday with four repeats during the week.
Kelly says, "Our new 30-minute programme will offer a comprehensive
guide to the latest innovations and developments in computing, mobile
communications and gadgets. We'll also have analysis of the wider
technological issues, plus interviews that will challenge business,
industry and political leaders, whose decisions can affect the lives
of hundreds of millions of people around the globe."
The Click microsite will also show the programme in full
each week - bbcworld.com/click - and will offer background information
on all of the topics covered on-air, plus online archive with clips
and text from previous shows.
