In addition, CNN.com far out-paced other news organisations' websites
in the amount of time users spent on the site in July 2004. Users
of CNN.com spent more than 924 million total minutes on the site,
up nine per cent from June 2004, according to Nielsen/NetRatings.
The monthly report follows Nielsen/NetRatings analysis of
Web traffic following the 2004 Democratic National Convention. According
to that report, CNN.com garnered the most users among news organisations
websites for all four days of the convention, averaging nearly 4.2
million unique US home and work users on a daily basis. In addition,
CNN.com also out-ranked other news organisations' websites in the
amount of time a user spends on the site. Each user spent an average
of nearly 8.5 minutes on the site each day.
