The partnership announced today has two initial elements. The first
is to bring global business and financial content from CNBC to audiences
in China on Shanghai Media Group’s Shanghai TV Business Channel,
and the second is to provide key business and financial information
from China to viewers across Asia, Europe and the United States
on CNBC’s global family of networks. The partnership has received
approval from China’s State Administration of Radio, Film and Television
(SARFT), and is strongly supported by the relevant Shanghai governmental
departments, according to an official release.
A special edition of CNBC’s Programme ‘Managing Asia’, repackaged
by Shanghai Media Group, is being prepared to be offered to Chinese
audiences via its Business Channel. Through in-depth, one-on-one
interviews, ‘Managing Asia’ examines the secrets and strategies
of the Asia Pacific region’s most influential business leaders.
Additionally, beginning 14 April, CNBC and Shanghai TV’s Business
Channel will broadcast live updates from Shanghai on CNBC’s extensive
global network twice each working day. China’s most relevant and
up-to-the minute business intelligence will be brought to investors
and business people throughout Asia, Europe and the United States.
A morning brief and an afternoon update will ensure that CNBC’s
viewers are informed of the latest developments in China’s business
environment, the release adds.
