UTV completing first international coproduction

MUMBAI: Ronnie Screwvalla's production house UTV is completing its first international co production with the launch of Pan Asia, a 26 part travel series.
 
 

The travel series will showcase Asia and will be aired on PBS (Public Broadcasting Service) in the US and Canada Prime (one of the largest television channels in Canada). The travel show will reach over 350 million elite viewers in North America. In addition, there are plans of broadcasting this show in Europe, South America, Australia and Asia.

This is the first international television co production project taken on by Mumbai based UTV. Going forward, the aim will be to concentrate on many more such co productions and as well as individual documentary and non fiction programmes, in leading international channels.

To this end, UTV participated in two leading international television conferences in the last two months to gauge the potential of the non-fiction market, particularly in countries like France, Germany and Canada.

UTV is currently gearing up to set up a non-fiction department to specifically serve international broadcasters and is on the lookout for talented television professionals, documentary makers and original concepts, that have India and its fascinating variety as a subject .

With 104 TV shows on 26 channels in 19 countries in 7 languages, UTV claims to be one of Asia's leading television production houses.
