MUMBAI: Delhi-based PVR plans to produce and release four movies while adding 40-50 screens in the next financial year.

"We are building up a pipeline and it is difficult to comment on what could be the possible release dates that we may end up in. But based on the content that we have right now, we should be looking at releasing about four films next year," says a source in PVR.

The company is also considering opening multiplexes in the overseas market. "Our focus really is to kind of build a great exhibition business in India.

"Opportunities in India are quite significant right now. But we are looking at opportunities overseas. We haven’t found anything very interesting right now," the source adds.

PVR is anticipating liscensing delays for its Mumbai properties, and as of now, is looking at an opening during the first quarter of the next financial year.

Currently, PVR is operational 95 screens.

The company plans to put up properties in the lucrative south India market in the next 9 to 12 months.

"We should be having another complex of 11 screens in the next 12 months in Bangalore itself in a very very prime development," the source added.

Another property is coming up in Chennai in next six months which should be another six screens.

"Beyond that, we have signed long term association contracts with a prestige group which will be giving us presence across all the prime cities in the southern belt," the source says.
