MUMBAI: The release date of Vishesh Films' Jannat has been postponed. The film, which was ready for a 2 May release, will now be opening up at the theatres on 16 May.

While Percept Picture Company (PPC) has acquired the global distribution and commercial rights of this film, the music and home video rights are with Sony BMG.

Kunal Deshmukh will be debuting as a director with Jannat starring Emran Hashmi and debutant Sonal Chauhan in lead roles.

While Pritam has scored the music for the film, the lyrics have been penned by Sayeed Quadri. KK, Kamran Ahmed, Rana Mazumder, Rupam Islam and Richa Sharma are the playback singers.

Jannat emphasises on the tale of a man who is a street-side gambler and turns into a bookie operating on an international platform.
