MUMBAI: Announcing a lavish budget of Rs 250-300
million, T-Series' Karzzz
, a remake
of Subhash Ghai's original, is ready for release
in August this year.
Speaking
to indiantelevision.com, T-Series VP
Vinod Bhansali said, "The film is slated
to get released worldwide in August. We are
producing the film with a budget of Rs 250-Rs
300 million and we are still to decide on the
sale of distribution rights."
The remake, produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan
Kumar, is being directed by Satish Kaushik and
stars Himesh Reshammiya, Urmila Matondkar, Gulshan
Grover, Danny Denzongpa and Rohini Hattangady.
A major portion of the film has already been
shot in exotic locations like the Emperor's
Palace and the Lagoon Beach in Johannesburg,
and is now all set to go to Cape Town. Other
parts of this film will be shot in Kenya and
Mumbai, and the shooting will continue till
March-end.
As
reported earlier, T-Series has bought for Rs
30 million the remake rights from Mukta Arts
for the original Karz film which was
directed by Subhash Ghai. The original film
had Rishi Kapoor, Tina Munim, Premnath, amongst
others, and was a blockbuster of the '80s.
